Privacy policy — TRAX mobile applications
Effective 29 August 2026 · Last updated 29 August 2026
Applies to the TRAX app for horse owners (com.trax.requester) and the TRAX Driver app (com.trax.driver), and to the TRAX web portals used by transport agencies and administrators.
SilkRoad Digital LLC (“TRAX”, “we”, “us”) operates the TRAX horse-transport marketplace. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect what you give us and what the service needs in order to move a horse from one place to another. We do not use advertising SDKs and we do not sell personal information.
| Data | When collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, mobile number and country dialling code, password | Registration | Create and secure your account, and sign you in |
| Email address and gender (optional) | Profile setup | Contact you about a trip and complete your profile |
| Precise location (horse owners) | When you pick a pickup or drop-off point on the map | Set accurate collection and delivery points for a transport request |
| Horse records — name, category, date of birth, and documents such as passports and health papers | When you add a horse | Identify the animals travelling and give the agency the paperwork it needs |
| Transport requests — pickup and drop-off addresses and coordinates, dates, waiting time, number of horses, notes | When you create a request | Publish the job to approved agencies and run the trip |
| Offers, bookings, trip status and ratings | As the trip progresses | Operate the marketplace and keep a record of the journey |
| Payment proof images and payment/refund status | When you upload proof of payment to an agency | Let the agency confirm payment and record refunds |
| Photographs taken with the camera or chosen from your photo library (drivers) | At pickup and delivery | Evidence of the horse's condition and of collection and delivery |
| Driver details — name, phone, licence and assigned vehicle | Added by the agency you work for | Assign trips and let owners know who is collecting their horse |
| Language preference (English or Arabic) | When you switch language | Show the app in your chosen language |
Location, camera and files
The horse-owner app requests precise location so you can set pickup and drop-off points on a map. It is used while you are using the app; TRAX does not track your device in the background, and the driver app does not collect location at all.
The driver app requests camera and photo access to capture pickup and delivery photographs. Both apps use the Android file picker for documents and images — they receive only the files you choose.
2. Information stored on your device
- Your sign-in token and basic account details, held in the app's private storage so you stay signed in. Removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
- Your language preference.
- A cache of images so lists load faster. Cleared with the app's storage.
3. Permissions the apps request
- TRAX (horse owners): internet access; precise and approximate location.
- TRAX Driver: internet access; network state; camera; access to images you select.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
- The transport agency you choose. When you accept an offer, the agency receives the details needed to carry out the trip — your name and contact number, the pickup and drop-off details, the horses travelling and their documents.
- The driver assigned to your trip, so they can collect and deliver the horse and contact you if needed.
- Horse owners receive the assigned driver's name and contact number, and the vehicle assigned.
- Service providers acting on our instructions:
- Twilio — delivers one-time verification codes over WhatsApp when you register.
- Google Maps Platform — map display, address lookup and route information.
- Pusher — delivers live updates to the apps and portals.
- Google Cloud — hosts the TRAX servers, database and uploaded files.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the safety of an animal in transit.
TRAX servers and stored files are located in the United States. If you use TRAX from outside the United States, your information is transferred there.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request |
| Trip, offer and payment records, including payment proofs | Up to 5 years, for tax, accounting and dispute-resolution purposes |
| Uploaded documents and photographs | Deleted with the account, unless attached to a transaction we must retain |
| Server and activity logs | 90 days |
| Backups | Purged on rotation, within 35 days |
6. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from inside the TRAX app, or ask us to do it — both routes, and exactly what is removed, are set out on our account deletion page.
We complete deletion requests within 30 days. Where a request is complex — for example where records must be checked across completed trips — we may need up to a further 60 days, and we will tell you why within the first 30 days.
7. Security
Traffic between the apps and our servers uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
8. Children
TRAX is intended for people who can enter binding contracts and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws — including California — have these rights under those laws.
We do not sell or share personal information for behavioural advertising. You can update most details in the app under Profile. To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@the-trax.com.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the “Last updated” date above will change. If the company operating TRAX changes, we will tell you before your information is transferred.
